We are Cordes – a proud family business and part of the Cordes Group, which unites more than 3.200 employees across 22 locations. In Bremerhaven, we produce a high-quality and extensive wood product range with dedication and precision, enabling sustainable construction and innovative design. Our production facilities are among the most modern in Europe, combining tradition and innovation. On an area of 450,000 m², and with the help of modern, innovative technologies and first-class production infrastructure, we manufacture approximately 520,000 m³ of planed timber, engineered beams, glulam, CE-marked battens, and solid wood panels annually.
Other pillars of our business include worldwide direct import via the adjacent container terminal, as well as professional and precise services – such as our High-Tech engineered framing cutting service or efficient fixed-length trimming.
Our commitment to protecting nature and the environment is certified: FSC® & PEFC. In addition, a large proportion of our wood is delivered directly by ship via our own harbor pier. Given the large volumes (on average 2,500 m³ per ship) and the distances involved (e.g., Northern Scandinavia or Canada), this is significantly more efficient and climate-friendly than other means of transport (fewer CO₂ emissions per ton/kilometer). Every truck avoided reduces emissions by 45–60 kg of CO₂.
